It wasn't that long ago that movies were screened in cinemas on film,
35mm for the most part. And before torrents, DVD and video, one could only watch movies shot on 8mm film.
This year Cinema South Festival will provide this nostalgic experience that includes not only viewing movies and segments thereof in a way that is rare these days, but also catching a glimpse of the technology behind them, from assembly and dismantling of the reels and the whirring sound of the engine while the movie is screened.
