The podcast revolution is here and listening to a podcast is typically personal and intimate – we all experience the podcast through earphones in a different way.
At the Cinema South Festival we'll turn the personal listening into a collective listening.
We'll convene in a dark theater and listen together to podcasts produced by students from the Communications Department Radio Track at Sapir College.
Collective listening enables observing others, sharing a personal experience and turning it into a joint event.
Podcasts are a media product that address one sense – the auditory sense, but when we listen in a group, other senses join in to provide a sense of partnership.
The reactions of others to the content impact the way in which the individual understands, interprets and experiences it.
Collective listening creates a feeling of togetherness and a unique experience that is not possible when we listen to a podcast alone in the traditional way. You're invited to be a part of this unique experience.
