In Memory of Ofir Libstein
Sunday | 10/03/2024 | 19:00-22:00 | Kibbutz Shefayim
The Cinema South Festival, the School of Audio and Visual Arts, and Sapir College received the news of the murder of Ofir Libstein, a close friend and longtime partner, with great shock and pain. As chairman of the Executive Committee of the Negev College, a member of the Board of Governors of Sapir Academic College, a community member, and a passionate lover of culture - Ofir was a dominant and significant figure in the festival's activities, and in his support of it as head of the council. We are moved and grateful for the privilege of holding a special evening in his memory, in collaboration with members of the Kfar Aza community, who are evacuees in Kibbutz Shefayim. As part of the event, we will launch a new venture in the spirit of Ofir's vision of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit among young people: the 100% Paradise project for boys and girls in the cinema track at Shaar HaNegev High School, who will present a collection of documentary films they have made each year on various topics related to the Shaar HaNegev community. The event is in cooperation with the Libstein family, colleagues and friends, the Kfar Aza community, and the general public. We will gather together to remember and recall Ofir and his work, and together we will celebrate the cinema and the community he loved.
