Sapir is Israel’s only college in the Otef Yisrael (Gaza Envelope); located less than two miles from the border.

Despite ongoing security risks, Sapir has grown to become one of the largest public colleges in Israel, with about 8,000 students– many of whom are the first in their families to attend an institute of higher education.

An engine for social mobility. Some 70% of Sapir's students come from underserved communities in southern Israel, 15% are from the Arab Bedouin community, and 23% have a range of disabilities.

Fifteen departments grant bachelor’s degrees and nine master’s degrees in a wide range of disciplines. Our alumni consistently rank among the best in the country on the Israel Bar and CPA exams. Graduates of our School of Audio and Visual Arts and Communications play key roles in Israel’s media and film industry.
