A collection of animated displays projected onto alternative screens in the public space at the Sderot marketplace.
With witty, intentional interpretation and quite a bit of criticism, the students of the Animation and Soundtrack Department created fantastical areas especially for the Festival: a scientist who concocts a solution in his small home for the class differences in Israeli society; a mysterious party trying with all its might to gain momentum which is constantly curbed; a hole in the wall turned clairvoyant machine; interactive instruments made out of recycled materials; a discussion among members of a Sderot "parliament" and a regular looking tree that contains an entire world.
The works address diverse aspects of new beginnings and old endings in culture, in the environment and in life in Sderot. Viewers of these displays will catch a glimpse of the unique experience that is formed between the projected image and the tangible world in the urban space we live in.
The displays were created in the course on Animation in the Public Space.
