Documentary animation
The documentary animation project deals with the representation of burning issues in Israeli society. The project tries to give a voice to the invisible people in society, or those who do not want or are unable to be exposed.
The project, which has been running for a decade, is very successful. It is supported by the Gesher Fund for Multicultural Cinema, and is screened at the Cinema South Festival every year, and at other festivals in Israel and around the world.
Project moderator and editor-in-chief: Ricardo Wardseim
Sound, soundtrack design and music: Dror Shiman
Support and cooperation: Gesher Fund for Multicultural Cinema
"Just A Moment"
The project deals with the story of patients who are suffering from incurable diseases and are in palliative care. Omer is deliberating over the way in which separation can be experienced and understood; Yaakov tries to reconcile the rest of his life and the life of his family in light of the discovery of a serious illness; Rabbi Zvi Arnon is a minister who helps families in their most difficult moments.
Incorporating classic animation, 3D and stop motion.
"Still There"
The project focusing on the experiences and feelings of the students in the events of October 7th. With the help of the films, the students try to calculate a new course, find sense in the situation, and perhaps process the trauma they experienced in a way that allows a different look at reality - which is continuing to change and take shape, while our future as individuals and as a society is in the dark.
The best of 23/24
A selection of end-of-the-year projects of the past two years of first and third year students, which on the one hand show the freedom and the search at the beginning of the journey for a style and a simple story, and on the other hand, the point where the students stand just before working on their final films, when their style is clearer and more specific, and the craft of storytelling is more unique to them as filmmakers in the making. The films were made as part of the classes on the language of animation, experimental animation, and third year specializations.
