After nine years of planning and meticulous construction, a magnificent amphitheater has come to life at the heart of Sapir’s campus.

Thanks to generous funding from JNF-Germany, the College engaged the services of the Urbanof Studio for Landscape Architecture to create a central, public space for students and faculty.  Nestled in the undulating terrain, the amphitheater emerges naturally from the landscape, its stone benches melding imperceptibly with grassy terraces and shady trees. The new, outdoor facility is spread out over 4,930 square meters and can seat 1,000.  Located at the nexus of Sapir’s green, flora-cradled walkways, it will host ceremonies, performances and other events, serving as an anchor for student life, a modern day agora for Sapir’s growing academic community.  Prof. Nir Kedar, President of the College, says the facility will be a cultural venue for the entire region.  Adv. Gilead Sher, Chair of Sapir’s Board of Directors, sees it as a symbol of peace, security, and shared society, the very values Sapir Academic College seeks to promote.  And our students?  For them it’s a place to meet, share, and enjoy the natural tranquility that gives special meaning to campus life.
