Dr. Hama Abu-Kishk, a senior lecturer at Sapir’s Communications Department, has been elected as a member of the Israel Internet Association's Board of Directors for 2023.
The Association is a nonprofit, and works to ensure that Israeli and global online services are safely, quickly, and freely available. It provides useful tools and data related to the internet in Israel.  The Board directs the Israel Internet Association's policy and strategy, Dr. Hama Abu-Kishk is the newest member.

Dr. Abu-Kishk's research interests are: new media, digital divides, digital activism and digital learning. Her research has been presented at local and international conferences and published in leading international journals.

Sapir, the academic nerve center of the entire Western Negev, will devote most of its NIS 200 million in government rehabilitation funding to scholarships, enabling more students from diverse backgrounds to study in the region. Its flagship initiative will be free tuition for all first-year students.
