Smart Specialization – The Process that is Transforming the Negev Israel’s Negev is thousands of kilometers away from North London, but Dr. Dan Kaufman of Sapir Academic College exemplifies the historic epigram on one of England’s most controversial statues. To paraphrase a quote beneath Karl Marx’s imposing bust, “Change the world, don’t describe it.” Admittedly, reading Marx is not on the top of Kaufman’s ambitious “to do” list. But he is making academia a tool for real world social transformation. -

These focus on recent developments in the Middle East providing insights into the wider regional and global implications of the news. Professor Feldman’s expertise includes Israel-Palestinian negotiations, nuclear proliferation, U.S. policy in the Middle East, and Israel foreign policy. -

Cinema South International Film Festival October 17-21
The Cinema South International Film Festival, founded by Sapir College's School of Audio and Visual Arts operating in collaboration with the Sderot Municipality, Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council and Cellcom, opened this week at the Sderot Cinematheque. This past Sunday (17/10), the Festival opened with a special ceremony, naming the street adjacent to the Sderot Cinematheque after the actress and filmmaker Ronit Elkabetz. -

Back On Campus - Live
We are open for business! On Sunday October 10, 2021, Sapir, Israel largest public college, launched the new academic year. For the first time since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, classes will be taking place on campus based on the Ministry of Health's Tav Yarok − Green Pass guidelines. Energized and excited to be back "live" on campus, Sapir students are experiencing a variety of festivities, including fairs with various pop-ups, food trucks and live music with leading Israeli artists. -

Gaming for Good
Our society prides itself on tolerance, but people with mental disorders are rarely accepted – and seldom understood. Ella Luna Pleasance knows this first hand. A third year computer science student at Sapir Academic College, Ella suffers from Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, trying to cope on a daily basis with often debilitating fears and insecurities.
