Paradise Shattered

Israel | 2024 | 73 min. | Hebrew | Hebrew and English Subtitles | Documentary

Ronit Ifergan and her husband Itzik relocate with their children from central Israel to Kibbutz Kfar Aza. They begin documenting life in the kibbutz with the 2013 film Border Living, and continue to chronicle the struggle for their home and the ongoing security situation on the Gaza border. Ronit captures the family’s ongoing confrontation with the constant threat, the kibbutz community’s fragile sense of security, and brings to light the dilemma of whether to stay or leave—a question that takes on a chilling new significance after the events of October 7th
