Now, Dr. Gil Bozer, has led a major international conference in Berlin on the subject of workplace coaching. Bozer, a senior lecturer at Sapir’s Department of Human Resource Management and a recognized authority in the field, believes coaching plays a key role in empowering employees, increasing their effectiveness and helping organizations get things done.  He sees it as a social process, fostering the development of individuals, groups and teams, with reciprocal impact on organizational culture and learning.

Together with colleagues from Germany’s HMKW University of Applied Sciences and VICTORIA International University of Applied Sciences, and from Birkbeck University of London, Bozer organized the most recent conference of Europe’s Association of Work and Organizational Psychology.  Researchers from eleven countries shared their latest, scientific research in a two and a half day, hybrid format conference, with some participating in person and others online. Workplace coaching is increasingly central to the practice of HR management.  Bozer wants to make sure it remains a rigorously evidence based profession.

Tens of thousands of Israeli soldiers have seen combat in the Gaza Strip since last October, but not all of them leave the war behind when they come back home. Many suffer combat and operational stress, reactions that could lead to PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and even suicide. Its flagship initiative will be free tuition for all first-year students.
